Tummy time with Lila on Christmas day

Cute! Cute! Lila!

A while back Mackenzie started climbing out of her crib. She would come over to her door and lay there and cry until we came and put her back to bed. Well, after awhile she would push her passy out the door and then really start screaming. I would push it back just enough so it was in reach. The video tells the rest...This was before the wonderful crib tent. Now she stays in bed all night long and gets plenty of sleep!!!!

Its been awhile so here are a lot of pictures of our goings on

Christmas Lights at the Mesa Temple
it was raining but that didn't stop us, it made the night extra special. There were hardly any people there so it was worth it.

For Christmas this year Wendy got a new sewing machine. I made her follow a treasure hunt that took us all over the house, then to cold stone for ice cream. The clues then led us to Wendy's parents where, after deciphering the final clues she found the machine behind the couch. She was very excited!!

Mackenzie looks just like Boo from Monsters Inc. here.

Wendy has mad sewing skills

I have been working on this quilt off and on for two years. Many of the handkerchiefs were my great grandmother Chris's The white border is made from peices of my wedding dress. Last night my Mom and I finally finished it. Take a look:

The ribbed part is from the boddice

We machine quilted each handkerchief.

This is the back. The girls room is purple.
Thanks so much Mom!
My sister Loya is so smart. She gave me the idea to put Mackenzie's shoes in the bottom drawer of her dresser. Mackenzie gets in there all the time because she loves to get herself dressed but now I don't have to refold all the clothes.

Matching aprons

Wendy made this apron in her Bernina sewing class and then her mom made a matching one for Mackenzie. They both just love to wear them!

Trunk-or-Treat

This video is just so fun. When Wendy told Mackenzie it was time to go she got up and just started walking away in the opposite direction. Wendy had no idea what she was doing but followed her and fortunatley she had the camera and started to record. Our little bunny sure knows how to hop! She loves to get right in front of the speaker and shake her cotton tail.
I don't know about others but these next three months are my favorite time of the year. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas! We spend tons of time with family and friends and those of you who know me know that I love a party!! An added bonus is our annual family trip to Mexico just before Thanksgiving this year we are going for 6 days!
This past weekend we had our Trunk-or-Treat! at the ward building! Mackenzie was the cutest bunny ever! the great part was that she actually said, "Trick or Treat" and then would take a piece of candy and say, "Thankyou" she was so fun.

Our happy family (A bee, a bunny, and the nerd who got the girl) It was funny how many people kept asking me why I didn't dress up.

Sweet Ladies! (Bees make honey..get it sweet?)

Fire Safety FHE

Tonight we had FHE with Wendy's family.  Her dad was in charge and gave us an excellent presentation on fire safety.  We created family exit plans, tested our smoke detectors, and then had lots of fun actually using fire extinguisher on a real (controlled) fire. Here are some pics of the fun we had.  It was crazy how quiet they are and that its just a really fine dust that comes out instead of the foam you see on the TV.  Thanks to Grandpa Thomas for the great lesson and fun activity.  Fire Safety Fun!! (the white stuff in the pictures is actually the dust from the extinguisher not snow.)

First Photo Shoot

We had Julia L. come to our house for a photo session with the girls.  We just love her style and she is so good with the kids she gets great candid shots and uses all natural lighting.  Anyway, here are a few of our favorites.  Enjoy!

No pain no gain

Last weekend I was having some tooth pain everytime I would chew. Each day it would get worse and worse so on Tuesday I went to the dentist and guess what, I needed a root canal. Fortunatley I was able to get it done later that day. I pshyced myself out to much making it worse in my mind by thinking about it over and over. Everyone told me it wasn't so bad but they were wrong. I was the case the doctor called "unusual" and "that hardly happens" I won't go into the gory details but lets just say it was not until the 4th novicane shot that I finally got numb. (but they drilled the tooth after the second) Later that evening I was still feeling major pain and increased swelling in my jaw and face. Long story short I missed three days of work and it was not a vacation. I have endured lots of pain in my medical history but nothing is worse than dental issues. I am usually a pretty happy guy but when I am sick or in pain I get a little grumpy so I want to give a big "Thankyou and I love you" to my dear wife Wendy. She helped me so much and I was a grumpy face most of the time. I am begining to feel better and I hope I can return to work tomorrow. Wish me luck!!

Dad's babysitting skills and Wendy's new hotsling

So here is Mackenzie pulling out the wipes from three different new packages. She was being watched by her dad and he was in the other room watching a show on the laptop. He heard some ruslting noise and thought she was ok...silly dad!

Wendy purchased a new "hotsling" and she loves it. As you can see from the pictures Lila and Mackenzie think its hot too. Our little family is doing well and happy.

Mackenzie's 1 yr Brithday.

I was going through some old videos and found this one. The funny thing about this one is that we had practiced with her before on how to blow out a candle, so she knew what to do. I think because all the family was around she was a little distracted (and so were the parents) anyway, the delayed reaction is what is the best part. enjoy

Too young to be acting this old

Ok so I am looking through the pictures Wendy has taken of the girls while I am gone at work and I see these videos and yes, its very cute, but to me as a father, its scary!! She is too young to be shopping the new Potterybarn Kids Catolog so earnestly. (I laughed at how well she was just sitting there turning the pages and talking about the items she wanted in the catolog) anyway, enjoy.

Our littlest bundle of joy

One month old. So happy
